England cricket team is currently in Pakistan after almost two decades for a Test series. Ahead of the mega series, many players including skipper Ben Stokes are down with an unidentified virus. Reports say as many as 14 players of the England cricket team have been infected with the virus.
Reports suggest that only five players- Joe Root, Zak Crawley, Harry Brook, Ollie Pope, and Keaton Jennings -attended the optional training on the eve of the series opener.
Team spokesman Danny Reuben did not told too much about the virus cases but he said unwell players “have been advised to stay at the hotel to rest up. In the absence of Stokes, the Pakistan Cricket Board had to postpone the trophy unveiling of the series by a day and the ceremony will now be held on Thursday ahead of the toss for the first Test.”
Earlier, England’s champion pacer James Anderson said that players are thinking only about winning.
“We’ve got a captain and coach that don’t want draws. We’re not playing for draws,” said Anderson.
With six wins in the last seven games at home, Ben Stokes had a perfect start to his captaincy stint for the Three Lions.
