After playing a handy knock of 61 not out, India wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha has stated that he is glad to contribute to the team’s cause during the ongoing first Test against New Zealand.
“Success is not in what you have, but who you are. Glad to contribute to the Team’s cause. @BCCI,” wrote Saha on his Twitter handle.
Former India cricketer VVS Laxman also hailed wicketkeeper’s fighting fifty in Kanpur.
“What a brilliant half-century from @Wriddhipops. To battle a stiff neck and to show that fight and determination reflects the true character of this champion player. Keep it up Wriddhi #NZvIND,” tweeted Laxman.
However, Saha didn’t keep wickets due to neck groain but his contribution with the bat has made his case stronger for South Africa tour selection.
On Day 5, India need 9 wickets to beat New Zealand in Kanpur. While, New who lost their first wicket minutes before Day 4 ended, have a tough job ahead in the chase of 284 runs on the final day.
