President of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), Amol Kale, passed away on June 10th in New York from cardiac arrest. Cricket fans worldwide are shocked by his sudden passing, which occurred only hours after he attended the India vs. Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 match. His Mumbai home was visited by a number of notable people, including state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who paid their final respects.

Ajinkya Rahane and Dhaval Kulkarni were among the cricket players who came to bid farewell. Renowned for his endeavours to promote cricket and assist local athletes, Kale had a significant position in Mumbai’s cricket community.

Following his election victory against former cricket player Sandip Patil, 47-year-old Amol Kale became the MCA president in 2022. He was honoured for his imaginative leadership and strong relationship with Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra. Born in Nagpur, Kale relocated to Mumbai more than ten years ago, where he succeeded as a first-generation businessman.

Throughout his time as MCA president, Amol Kale made a big impact on domestic cricket. In line with the BCCI’s intention to double player compensation, he was crucial in getting senior domestic players in Mumbai to get twice as much for their matches.
