World Cup 2023: The Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra, has expressed his support for the Indian cricket team, the “Men in Blue,” after they were unexpectedly defeated by Australia in the World Cup 2023 final on Sunday.
Finding Victory in Unity
Anand Mahindra wrote, “This sums up why we didn’t lose. It’s easy for teams to celebrate together; harder to support & share each other’s pain. The Men in Blue came from around the country and from vastly different backgrounds but played as a family and won our hearts. They’re STILL my #MondayMotivation”
Final Showdown at Narendra Modi Stadium
In the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Australia defeated India by 6 wickets after the Men in Blue set a goal of 240 runs in 50 overs for Australia. KL Rahul led the Indian innings with 66, followed by Virat Kohli with 54 and Rohit Sharma with 47. With three wickets, Mitchell Starc was Australia’s most successful bowler; Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins each took two wickets.
