Road Safety World Series: The Road Safety World Series is set to return again; this time, it will also feature Pakistan. The tournament is set to return for the third season, with Pakistan as the newest addition.
For the first time, the tournament will be played outside of India. The first two seasons were played in India, a major reason Pakistan did not participate in the tournament.
We all know about the tense political relationship between India and Pakistan. After all, Pakistan’s cricket team is still not cleared to travel to India for the ODI World Cup 2023. So, having the tournament outside India was the only option to let Pakistan participate.
A Brilliant Tournament
So far, the two seasons have been amazing, with legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Kevin Pietersen, Sanath Jayasuriya, Shane Watson, Tilakratne Dilshan, Yuvraj Singh, Brian Lara and many other legends taking part in the event.
The first season was split into two parts because of the pandemic. The first season involved a total of 7 teams, while in the second season, New Zealand was added and became the eighth team of the event.
India and Sri Lanka were the finalists in both seasons. India defeated Sri Lanka in both finals to win the event.
Further Details Will Be Revealed Soon
Further details regarding the event will be disclosed soon. The dates are still being finalized. But the tournament will start in early September and will be three weeks long. The team slot has increased to nine from the previous eight, with Pakistan being the newest addition.
It will be interesting to see former Pakistan international reigniting their rivalry against Indian legends. There has been no news regarding the players that will participate from Pakistan, but we can hope for an announcement soon.
