It’s been almost a week since Ramiz Raja was removed from the post of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman. Since then, Raja has been in a lot of controversies. Now, veteran Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz has targetted PCB’s former chief and said management never paid heed to players’ demands.
“We had a lot of difficulties with the previous board,” said Wahab Riaz to Samaa News.
Riaz also added that he was made to feel unwanted under Raja’s tenure.
“We were told things ‘You have no idea how difficult it is to adjust you, nobody would keep you in a team. That made us feel as if we’ve some loolhay langhray players who have never achieved anything in the game,” said Riaz.
“Anyone who was above 30 was deemed unfit to play. They said that it could hurt unity of the team or the performances of the team. Who has performed from the team that they chose? I don’t think any player has got as many chances as those under Ramiz bhai. We didn’t get more than 2 games. And after all that, the chief selector comes and says, ‘this team has given you a lot of happiness’. What’s this? Eid?,” Riaz further added.
Wahab said Raja never responded to his calls or messages since he took the top job.
“I’m a present cricketer, I have not retired. Why did he never answer me? If people working under you aren’t happy, then that says a lot,” said Riaz.
