Asad Rauf: Former Pakistan umpire Asad Rauf passes away due to a cardiac arrest. Rauf took his last breath at the age of 66 on Thursday (15 September). Dunya news reporter that Rauf’s brother Tahir put the development about the famous and legendary umpire. Tahir said that the Pakistani umpire was closing his clothing shop, which is in Landa Bazaar, Lahore. He was about to return home when he felt some sort of discomfort and pain in his chest. The Punjab-born Asad Rauf was taken to hospital with an immediate effect. Doctors tried, but he couldn’t be revived.
Rauf was in ICC’s Elite Umpires Panel
Rauf was one of the great and legendary umpire Pakistan ever gave to the World Cricket, along with the legendary Aleem Dar. Asad Rauf was included in the ICC’s Elite Panel of Umpires. After having this opportunity, he did umpiring in 47 Tests, 98 ODIs and 23 T20Is. He served at the top for more than seven years. He has been dropped from Elite Panel of Umpires in 2013 after the annual review of performance. Rauf started his journey as an umpire in 1998. He made his ODIs debut in the match of Pakistan vs Sri Lanka in 2000.

Rauf was included in the Elite Panel of Umpires for the first time in 2004. Rauf also did umpiring in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was one of the name who came in the fixing saga in 2013, Rauf’s career went downhill after that. Apart from behind an amazing umpire, Rauf was a renowned player of Pakistan’s first class cricket. He played 111 matches and scored 4034 runs with the help of three centuries and 26 half centuries.
