Asia Cup 2023: Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has become a cornerstone of the national team. He just became the fastest player to reach 19 centuries in ODIs in the first match of the Asia Cup.
He scored a brilliant 151 runs and helped Pakistan reach a mammoth total after a shaky start. This has become a regular occurrence as Babar has saved Pakistan many times. With the high-octane clash against India, everyone is focused on Babar Azam and Virat Kohli.
But as fans are waiting for the face-off, these two players have nothing but respect for each other. The Pakistan skipper reflected on his conversation with Virat in 2019 and stated how the Indian star helped him before the Asia Cup 2023 match.
He Gave Me Confidence
Pakistan skipped reflected on his meeting with Virat Kohli during the ODI World Cup 2019. He stated that the Indian batting star was at the peak of his form at that time and he still is and he has learned a lot from him.
Babar further stated that he asked a few questions to Virat and some of his batting techniques. He wanted to take something with him and asked lots of questions to Virat. He was shocked when the Indian captain explained everything too generously.
Babar further stated that when a player like Virat Kohli praises you, it gives you confidence and motivation to perform better.
“Babar Is The Best Batsman In The World”
Back in 2022, Virat Kohli praised the Pakistan skipper and stated him as the best batsman across all formats. He further stated that even when Babar is at the top of the world, he is still humble and his attitude has not changed.
Kohli enjoys seeing Babar play and stated that he is the kind of player and character that will inspire lots of people. Babar is close to breaking another record in Asia Cup 2023 as he only needs 6 runs to become the fastest captain to reach 3,000 runs.
