Asia Cup 2023

After Bumrah and Iyer, KL Rahul will also resume his training in nets. But will he able to return in time of Asia Cup 2023? Read Here.

Asia Cup 2023: After the reports indicated that Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah will be back in the Indian squad before Asia Cup 2023, we got another good news. It looks like the star Indian batsman, KL Rahul is also closing in on his return.

According to various reports, it is being reported that KL Rahul will be back in training nets this week honing his batting skills. But the reports also suggest that he won’t be part of the Asia Cup 2023 squad.

This has not only affected India’s Asia Cup squad planning but will also hinder the World Cup 2023 squad planning. As KL Rahul will need some game time to return to proper fitness after his recovery. But the hope is still there.

Will Resume Batting

According to various reports, KL Rahul will resume batting this week. On the other hand, Cricbuzz has reported that there is no chance that the wicket-keeper batsman will feature in the Ireland series.

And that also rules him out of Asia Cup as the selectors won’t select him without any game time. This has opened up a discussion on whether to give a chance to Ishan Kishan or Sanju Samson in Asia’s biggest tournament.

Both of them will have the chance to prove themselves in the West Indies series. But everything is not lost. Rahul can still return in time for the World Cup and we are hopeful he does that.

Asia Cup 2023: Major Squad Update

There has been a mixed bag of news coming out of NCA this week. We just read about KL Rahul resuming to bat this week. On the other hand, Prasidh Krishna has also started bowling in nets.

Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer are already practicing and will be part of the Ireland series. VVS Laxman will be replacing Rahul Dravid as the head coach for that series. Considering everything, we are in for some intense months ahead.
