Asian Games 2023: On Day 13 of the ongoing Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, India achieved notable successes across various sports. Ruturaj Gaikwad-led India cricket team crushed Bangladesh in the semi-finals by 9 wickets, chasing down the target of 97 in just 9.2 overs. With the victory, they have now stormed into the semifinals.
India’s Day 13 at Asian Games 2023
The archery team, comprising Ankita Bhakat, Bhajan Kaur, and Simranjeet Kaur, secured a bronze medal by defeating Vietnam with a score of 6-2.
In women’s kabaddi, India dominated Nepal with a commanding 61-17 victory, securing a spot in the final, marking their highest score in the Games. Bajrang Punia had an easy 10-0 win in his wrestling pre-quarterfinal against Ronil Tubog of the Philippines. Sonam and Aman also advanced to the next round in their respective wrestling pre-quarters.
Additionally, the women’s compound archery team will compete for bronze after their loss in the semifinals. In men’s badminton, HS Prannoy, Chirag Shetty, and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy have the opportunity to upgrade their medals to silver by securing wins in the semi-finals.
Later in the day, the Indian men’s kabaddi team is set to face arch-rivals Pakistan in a highly anticipated semi-final match. India earned their spot in the semi-finals by defeating Chinese Taipei 50-27 and topping Group A with a 56-28 victory over Japan. The encounter against Pakistan promises to be a thrilling showdown at the Asiad.
