The winning streak continued earlier when India clinched gold in the men’s trap team shooting event. The Indian team, consisting of Kynan Darius Chenai, Zoravar Singh Sandhu, and Prithviraj Tondaiman, achieved a remarkable score of 361 points, earning them the top spot in the team event. In individual qualification, Kynan secured the first position, while Zoravar finished fourth, both making it to the final. Zoravar claimed fifth place, and Kynan won the bronze in the final. The women’s trap team also contributed by securing silver. The team, comprising Manisha Keer, Preeti Rajak, and Rajeshwari Kumari, displayed their skill. Keer, however, was the sole qualifier for the individual women’s trap event final, where she finished sixth. India’s shooting campaign at the Asian Games culminated with an outstanding performance, accumulating a total of 22 medals, including 7 gold, 9 silver, and 6 bronze.

In golf, Aditi Ashok secured silver in the women’s individual event, with India finishing fourth in the team event. Ashok, who led the competition overnight, faced challenges on the final day, allowing Thailand’s Yubol Arpichaya to claim gold. Meanwhile, Jyothi Yarraji, a title contender, fell short of qualifying for the women’s 200m final after finishing third in her heat. Defending champion Swapna Barman is currently in fourth place in the women’s heptathlon, with the decisive 800m round yet to come. Nandini Agasara is fifth in the same event. In the men’s 200m, Amlan Borgohain qualified for the final.

India’s boxing sensation, Parveen, continued her impressive form by defeating Uzbekistan’s Sitora in the women’s 57kg boxing quarterfinal, securing a place in the semifinals and guaranteeing a medal for India.

The women’s hockey team played to a 1-1 draw against South Korea. The spotlight now turns to star boxer Nikhat Zareen, who will face Raksat Chuthamat in the women’s 50kg semifinal, already securing a bronze but aiming to upgrade its color to gold or silver. In track and field events, Murali Sreeshankar and Jeswin Aldrin will compete in the men’s long jump final, while Avinash Sable, known for breaking Kenyan dominance in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games last year, will vie for victory in the men’s steeplechase final.
