Asian Games 2023: With their eyes on the Asian Games 2023, Indian hockey team is ready to start their tour of Spain. The team led by Harmanpreet Singh and Hardik Singh has left the country for the upcoming four nations tournament.

The four nations in the tournament are England, Netherlands, India and the host Spain. It will also be a preparatory tournament for India as the Men in Blue are going to participate in Hero Asian Championship Trophy followed by Asian Games 2023.

Indian teams are under high expectations from the fans and the media as well as they are one of the strongest team in the tournament. There is no doubts that India can go and win it all in both competitions.

Implementing The Plans

Indian Hockey team head coach Craig Fulton stated that this tournament is all about implementing the plans. They will try out new strategies and structures for their upcoming matches in Spain.

India will start their campaign against Spain on July 25th. The round robin tournament will take place between July 25th to July 20th. The Blues will face Netherlands on 26th and England on 28th.

Harmanpreet Singh stated that this tournament is chance for them to test themselves against the best nations in the world. He acknowledged England and Netherlands’ great form and esnured that they will do everything to win the competition.

All Eyes On Asian Games 2023

Both Indian team coach and captain have made it clear that the main aim is Asian Games in Hangzhou. Harmanpreet Singh stated they want to perform well here so that they can take that momentum into next tournaments.

On the other hand, head coach stated “This is an important year for us with the prestigious Hero Asian Champions Trophy Chennai 2023, and the crucial Hangzhou Asian Games 2023, coming up. We have worked on the areas in the camp where we needed to improve upon, and we will focus on our strengths on the Spain tour to get positive results.”
