Asian Games 2023: The Indian women’s Hocket Team will start their Germany tour by playing against China on Sunday. The team is scheduled to play 3 matches between July 16 to July 19.
The first match will be against the Chinese team on July 16. This tour will not only contain India but will also help them prepare for Asian Games 2023. A tour that is welcomed considering the circumstances.
The Indian team was in high spirits before the match and was confident about their match with China. Especially, Indian captain Savita who wants to start the tour positively by defeating China.
A Tough Challenge
India has faced off against China 17 times in the last decade. Looking at the records, India has the edge over their neighbors. The Blues have defeated China 10 times and suffered only 5 losses with two matches ending in a tie.
India will face Germany twice on 18 and 19 July. The number 4 ranked team has faced India 5 times in the last decade with India winning twice and Germany winning thrice. This is also an opportunity for India to level the records.
The match against China will start at 7:30 PM IST. The match against Germany on 18th July will start at 2:30 PM and the next day the match will start at 9:00 PM.
An Amazing Test
Indian captain Savita was very confident and stated that it will be an amazing test for the team. She further stated that it is an opportunity for them to face Asian opponents ahead of the Asian Games 2023.
Vice Captain Deep Grace Ekka further commented that they have faced China multiple times and know what they are capable of. They are prepared to take on this challenge and will fight for a good result.
