Ancy Sojan Edappilly’s Record-Breaking Long Jump Propels Her to Second Place
In her fifth attempt, Ancy Sojan Edappilly jumps a whopping 6.63 metres higher than her previous record. She has now surpassed herself with this! Although Shaili Singh increased her best leap to 6.48m, it was not enough to qualify for the podium. With a best leap of 6.56 metres, which she achieved on her third attempt, Ancy Sojan Edappilly is maintaining her second-place position.
Indian Table Tennis Pair Secures Bronze in Asian Games Women’s Doubles
Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee lost the women’s doubles table tennis semifinal on Monday, but it was enough for the pair to exit the competition with only India’s third bronze medal at the Asian Games. Earlier, two skating bronze medals gave India’s medal total for the Asian Games 2023 a boost. The women’s team won the first event, a 3000m relay in speed skating, while the men’s team won the second event, a 300m relay in speed skating.
