Aus Vs Eng Ashes 2023: England just announced the squad for the fourth Ashes test match. And surprisingly they have announced a 14 men squad rather than your traditional 15 or 16 men squad. It is truly a mystery.
After an impressive victory over Australia in the third test and keeping the Ashes alive, the England team is full of confidence. If they win the next test they will tie the series and will have a good chance to even go and win it.
For that, the England team does not want to leave any stone unturned. That is why they have already announced their squad for the upcoming fourth test in Manchester. And there has been a surprise exit from the team that no one expected.
Aus Vs Eng Ashes 2023: Another Chance For Bairstow
Everybody thought that Jonny Bairstow will be dropped from the side after continuous failed performances and shocking wicketkeeping. After all, Australian Wicket Keeper Alex Carey has been constantly changing the game with his keeping.
But, the England team has decided to give Bairstow another chance to go. Jonny has been announced as the sole wicketkeeper for the upcoming test. This means that his place in the side is almost fixed and he remains untouchable.
This is a shocking decision as this series has proved that you need your best keeper. On the other hand, England has named 6 fast bowlers in the squad alongside Moeen Ali as the spinner. This also clears up that Moeen Ali is also an assurance for the fourth test.
James Anderson is in the squad even though he has confessed that he might not be part of the Manchester test. The real choice that England has to make now is between Josh Tongue and Ollie Robinson as the other three pacers are sure things to play the test.
