Aus Vs Eng Ashes 2023: India’s legendary off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has supported Moeen Ali. Harbhajan Singh came out and tweeted that he could not wrap his head around all the chatter that is going on with the Moeen Ali incident.
England spinner came out of retirement to play the first test match in the Ashes series. Sadly, the comeback was not as sweet as he would have expected it to be. As the English spinner injured his bowling finger during the match.
A Hefty Fine in Aus Vs Eng Ashes 2023
Moeen Ali was charged with Article 2.20 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. The incident happened in the 89th over of Australia’s first inning when Ali was found applying a drying agent to his bowling finger.
Moeen Ali admitted the offense and accepted the sanction. Moeen was sanctioned with one demerit point in his disciplinary record and 25% match fees from the first Ashes match.

Harbhajan to the rescue
Harbhajan tweeted that he does not understand why everyone is making a fuss about the incident. He stated that Moeen was using the spray to numb the pain. The only issue he had with the incident is that Moeen should have informed the umpires.
Harbhajan also mentioned that nothing happens when a batsman uses a spray when he gets a blister under the gloves. Whereas when it comes to a bowler, it becomes a problem.
