Aus Vs Eng Ashes 2023: James Anderson will turn 41 years old on Sunday. So, it is obvious that the questions regarding his retirement are on everyone’s mind. And the thought must have passed through Anderon’s mind at some point too.
After all, he has been ruling this game of cricket for 20 years now. He has got himself the king of swing crown that no one can take from him. He has been rattling batsmen for the past 20 years, so maybe it is time to hang up the boots now.
In the BBC‘s Test Match Special after the end of the second day, the English medium pacer answered the question on this topic only. And his answer has left smiles on the faces of lots of his fans.
No Interest In Retirement
The Al Time Leading Wicket Taker of England stated that he has no interest in retirement. He further stated that he is feeling very good and has been bowling in top condition for the past 3-4 years now.
His skills are intact and he is in much more control of his body now than he was before. So, in terms of retirement, he has no interest in doing so. And he does not see himself going out of cricket any time soon.
“I don’t feel like I’m bowling badly or losing pace or that I’m on the way out. I still feel I can offer a lot to this team.” The medium pacer further stated.
Aus Vs Eng Ashes 2023: Intense Series Decided
Anderson might have only got one wicket in the final test so far when he dismissed Mitch Marsh. But he can compensate in the final inning as his team will need him. Right now, the Ashes test can go anywhere.
As the first inning of both teams ended with Australia taking only 12 runs lead. Which is nothing in the big scenario. So, England will need the Manchester boy to stand up and get back to his best.
