Aus Vs Eng Ashes 2023

Joe Root departs on the second delivery of second day of Aus Vs Eng Ashes 2023 third test. Watch the video here.

Aus Vs Eng Ashes 2023: It is a devastating start for England. Just when England thought that things would get better, it gets worse. And now mere 263 runs look like a mammoth target to achieve.

Firstly, England was not able to capitalize on the startling collapse of Australia and let them score 263 runs. And while batting second, they were struggling by the end of the first day. But with Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow on the pitch, it looked like things will be okay.

But the start of the second day couldn’t have been worse for England. As Joe Root departs on the second delivery of the day without adding anything to the score. Pat Cummins once again showed his class and took the wicket of England’s leading batsman.

Aus Vs Eng Ashes 2023: Cummins To The Rescue

It has become a usual job for Cummins now, hasn’t it? Whenever his team needs wickets, he delivers. That is just his job. A job that he does perfectly. Once again when Australia collapsed on a small score, he punched through England’s batting order.

He got the wicket of Ben Duckett and Harry Brook on the first day. And started the second day with the biggest wicket in England. A ball that bounced a little bit higher than usual and swung very minorly was enough to force Root to play an unconventional shot.

And just like that, Joe Root gave his catch to Warner standing on the first slip. Pat Cummins took all three wickets in this inning on slips.

A Tough Chase Ahead

This is a do-or-die match for England and if they lose, they will lose the series. Australia has the chance to win their third straight Ashes series. England has a mountain to climb now. But they still have the big man Ben Stokes who was made for these big moments.
