AUS Vs ENG T20 World Cup 2024: Finally the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 has started. England Vs Australia was supposed to be one of the most intense games of the tournament and so far it has lived up to its name.

David Warner and Travis Head decided to take the bowling-friendly pitch out of the equation and attack everything they could. And it worked tremendously well as this duo brought us back to the IPL 2024 days.

This was the most action-packed Powerplay of the tournament so far where both teams did something. Warner and Head annihilated England’s bowling line and Archer kept the English side in the game with his brilliant bowling.

Warner And Head Storm

Travis Head and David Warner decided to hit it out of the park exactly after the first over. They faced the first over as a precaution and took notice of how the pitch is reacting.

Jos Buttler decided to use Will Jacks as his second bowler and the Aussie opener duo did not let the chance pass. 3 sixes in the over set the tone for a PowerPlay that will unofficially kick off the hitting phase of the tournament.

Warner especially was in his vintage avatar and scored 39 runs in just 16 deliveries. His inning included 4 sixes and a strike rate of 244. Head on the other hand also scored 34 runs with 3 sixes and a strike rate of 190.

AUS Vs ENG T20 World Cup 2024: Comeback?

While Warner and Head had ruined the English bowling line-up in the first five overs, there was one ray of hope. Jofra Archer was brilliant in the powerplay and took down Head with an economy of just over 6.

Moeen Ali also sends Warner back to the pavilion in the fifth over to start a mini-comeback for England. But Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh took the baton and shut down any possibility of that and the Aussies are marching towards the tournament’s first 200.
