AUS VS PAK ICC World Cup 2023: Babar Azam’s woeful form continues in the World Cup as he was once again sent back to the stands cheaply against Australia. Adam Zampa sent the Pakistan skipper back to the pavilion on just 18 runs.
This is one of the worst start to a campaign by Babar and in the first four innings, he has nothing to show. The only decent inning he played in this campaign so far was his half-century against India.
This woeful form has also resulted in the Pakistan team being in desperate need of a batsman who can stabilize the inning. If his form continues like that, we might even see him dropping from the team.
AUS VS PAK ICC World Cup 2023: Adam Zampa Strikes Again
In the 27th over, Adam Zampa bowled a short delivery which was pulled away by Babar Azam. But the ball did not travel at all and was caught by Australian skipper Pat Cummins on the short leg.
It was a wonderful catch but we have seen this kind of dismissal of Babar in this campaign already. He was caught on a short leg against the Netherlands as well playing the same shot. These are worrying signs.
Poor Start To The Tournament
It has been a poor start by Babar Azam to the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. In the four innings, he has scored only 83 runs so far with one half-century. He has not been able to reach 20 run mark except one match.
Azam currently has worse batting average than Pat Cummins in this campaign. He is just behind Shakib Al Hasan and Temba Bavuma in Worst batting average by a captain in 2023 World Cup.
