He is one of the main pillars of this Australian team and without him, the team is completely lost. He proved that once again when he scored a tremendous century against Pakistan in the group-stage match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
Warner played a brilliant inning of 163 runs in just 124 deliveries. It was his 5th century in the ODI World Cup and in doing so, he also achieved some amazing milestones and records to his name.
The Legendary Opener
This was Warner’s third 150+ score in the World Cup. No other batsman has reached the 150 runs mark in the World Cup more than once. It won’t be wrong to say that Warner is the best Australian opener of all time.
This was also the third-highest individual score by an Aussie in the World Cup. Shockingly, the first two highest individual scores are also of David Warner. Warner is leading the list with scores of 178, 166, and now 163.
Warner now has the second-highest 150+ runs score in the ODI format. This was his 7th 150th and he is just behind Rohit Sharma who is leading the chart with an 8 150+ score. Two of the best openers the world has ever seen.

It looks like Pakistan has become Warner’s favorite opponent in the ODI format. The legendary opener has scored four centuries in the last four innings against Pakistan in ODI cricket.
