Babar Azam: On New Year’s Eve, Pakistani captain Babar Azam and seasoned wicket-keeper batsman Mohammed Rizwan brightened a young fan’s day in the hospital. When Babar unexpectedly paid Pakistan’s top fan a surprise visit in the hospital, he added to his happiness by giving him the hat of the Pakistan cricket team.
Babar Azam meets the ill fan
The fan and Babar talked about Babar’s upcoming leadership of Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Before the 2023 season began, Babar joined the team from the Karachi Kings as part of a large trade transaction. The fan mentioned Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi as some of his favourite cricketers throughout the conversation. Then, Babar questioned him over his desire to talk with Rizwan. Rizwan joined them on a video call when the fan nodded his head.
The fan went on to say that he continuously wishes for the team to succeed. He admitted that he had been in tears the day when Pakistan lost to Australia in the 2021 T20 World Cup semifinal in Dubai, when wicket-keeper Matthew Wade saved the eventual champions from defeat.

Pakistan drew the first test match
After an exciting day five in Karachi, Pakistan’s Babar-led squad drew their final international match of 2022 against New Zealand. Babar’s unexpected declaration throughout the day surprised cricket fans, and when poor lighting caused the game to be ruled a draw, the visitors seemed to be on track to chase the total.
Sarfaraz Ahmed was able to rejoin the playing XI after almost four years away when Rizwan was discarded following a dismal series with the bat against England. They will play the second Test against New Zealand on January 2 after the first Test ended in a draw.
