Babar Azam: PCB slams Fox Cricket for baseless reports on Pakistan skipper’s honeytrap videos, see response here

Babar Azam

Babar Azam: Pakistan cricket team skipper Babar Azam was accused in a fake sexting controversy after his conversations went viral online. The voice notes were tweeted by a parody account. Additionally, the Twitter user said that those were Babar’s voicemails to the girlfriend of a Pakistani player, pleading with her to continue sexting with him for maintaining his boyfriend’s position in the team. Babar did not respond to the charges.

PCB slams Fox cricket for their report

The false sexting issue involving Babar, however, drew a severe response from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The PCB took issue with Fox Cricket, one of the board’s partner broadcasters, for reporting the sexting charges without any supporting evidence.

In response to Fox Cricket’s tweet, PCB wrote, “As our media partner, you might have considered ignoring such unsubstantiated personal allegations which Babar Azam has not deemed worthy of a response.”

Fox cricket has now, however, deleted the tweet. Tweets on the sexting issue and bogus Babar Azam voice notes were removed from the parody account as well. Throughout the whole incident, Babar remained silent and showed no signs of attentin. He just shared a picture on Twitter during the team’s tour of Australia. His admirer responded with tweets expressing support for him.

Being the captain of the team is not going well for Babar, and these fabricated rumours will undoubtedly harm him. His most recent home losses include a 3-0 defeat to England in the Test series, a 2-2 tie in the two-match ODI series between New Zealand and Pakistan, and a 2-1 victory over Pakistan in the one-day international series by the Black Caps. Not to mention that England won the T20I series against Pakistan 4-3 at home last year. The strain on Babar is enormous, and the new PCB administration could wish to relieve him of some leadership responsibility so he can devote all of his attention to his batting.
