India’s stand-in captain KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first in the first Test vs Bangladesh. Batting first, India lost three wickets in quick succession before Shreyas Iyer and Cheteshwar Pujara came to the rescue. Rahul yet again failed to score big and became a troll’s target. While Shubman Gill scored just 20 runs.
Fans were not pleased with India’s performance in the first session where Virat Kohli too got out after scoring just 1 run. Pujara and Iyer added 149 runs for the sixth wicket.
Rahul looked confident before the game
Before the game skipper, Rahul looked confident even after the top players’ unavailability.
“There have been a few injuries, obviously we miss our captain Rohit and a few others but that gives opportunities to other guys. Everyone’s played a little bit of cricket and they’ll be excited to take on this challenge and contribute to the team,” said Rahul at the toss.
