Indian women’s team opener Smriti Mandhana turns 24 today.

Smriti is considered as one of the best bats-women. She is even ranked No. 4 in ODI batting ranking. Interestingly Smriti is the only Indian in the top 5 of the list.

Mandhana also captained women’s IPL team Trailblazers.

At age of 24, Mandhana has made quite name of herself on the cricket field.

In 2013 she made her ODI debut and Test debut in 2014 .
She was the only Indian player to be named in the ICC women’s team of the year in 2016 .

BCCI named her as the Best Women’s International cricketer in June 2018. And in the same year, ICC awards her with Rachael Flint for the best female cricketer of the year.

At age of two she along with her family moved to Sangli in Maharashtra. Both her father and brother played cricket for Sangli at district level.

At age of nine she was selected in Maharashtra’s under 15 cricket team. At 11 she was part of Maharashtra under 19 cricket team.

And her first break came in October 2013, she becomes the first Indian woman to achieve double hundred in a one day game.
