BBL Final: This season’s Big Bash League champions are the Perth Scorchers. Perth Scorchers prevailed in the thrilling championship match between Brisbane Heat and Perth. Perth Scorchers batsman Cooper Connolly had other ideas when his team needed 38 runs from 18 balls and the match was quickly shifting in Brisbane Heat’s favour. James Bazley, who brought the 18th over, was attacked by him. Connolly won the game for the Perth Scorchers by scoring 18 runs in his over. Cooper Connolly hit the first pitch for a six, ran for two runs, hit a four, and then struck the final pitch once more for a big six. His batting allowed Perth Scorchers to take control of the game and win the championship for a fifth time. Fans flocked to the stadium to watch him bat, and a video of this has since gone viral on social media.
Final was thrilling
The match may have been won by the Perth Scorchers but it turned out to be an emphatic final. Brisbane Heat, batting first, scored 175 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. But in response, Perth Scorchers, who came to chase the target, also took the match to the last over. However, Perth Scorchers achieved the target of 5 wickets in 19.3 overs and thus won the BBL title for the fifth time.
