BCCI has just announced India’s upcoming home schedule. The Indian cricket board had tried to balance things between major ICC tournaments and bilateral series. It must be a challenge considering we have an ICC tournament every year.
The Indian cricket board also faced a challenge to insert the test matches in the schedule which is essential for the World Test Championship tournament. And just by looking at the schedule, we can see that it is going to be a blockbuster test season ahead.
Before the Champions Trophy 2025, India will play 10 test matches. But the concerns arrive in the ODI where India is only scheduled for 6 matches before the Champions Trophy. This lack of game time can be a concern for the team.
BCCI Promises BlockBuster Test Season!
If you are a fan of test cricket, BCCI has made all the arrangements for you to have a sensational year ahead. India is going to play two blockbuster series against New Zealand and Australia by January 2025. There will be two test matches against Bangladesh as well.
Concerns For Champions Trophy 2025
The concerns arise for ODI cricket. The bilateral series till 2025 will be ruled by T20i cricket. The ICT is scheduled to play 20 T20i matches by February 2025. It is going to be a packed season but there is no place for ODI cricket in this schedule.
Home Schedule For Indian Team
India’s season will start as soon as the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is over. The team will travel to Zimbabwe in July for a T20i series. After that, there are 3 ODIs and 3 T20is scheduled in Sri Lanka for the Men In Blues.
