BCCI: The new central contract will be announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) before the end of the month after keeping the players waiting. Elections and the formation of a new selection committee caused the country’s top cricket organisation to postpone the announcement.

BCCI to soon release list of contract players
However, BCCI is ready to disclose the list at any time and has made some significant modifications to it. While some players are expected to receive significant promotions, India’s seasoned batter may not receive a central contract. According to recent rumours, because he is currently thought to be out of favour, veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan may not receive a new contract.
Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shubman Gill may receive significant promotions in the meantime. Pandya, the new captain of India in 20-over international matches, is expected to go to Grade A, followed by Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill.
Surya is now the best T20I hitter in the world and is steadily establishing himself in the ODI lineup as well. Shubman Gill, meanwhile, has established himself as an all-format regular. The BCCI’s new central contract, which will be unveiled next month, will significantly benefit these two hitters. A senior BCCI official said, “Yes, there has been a little delay due to elections and the selection committee. The final discussions are already done. It should be out by next month.”
Players might get a salary hike
The Indian Cricket Board is preparing to offer its players a raise that has been overdue, which is the second significant event around the new central contract. The BCCI has decided to increase salaries for players in every grade by 10–20%. Notably, it is said that Grade A+ players would receive 10 CR following the raise, while Grade A, Grade B, and Grade C players will receive 7 CR, 5 CR, and 3 CR, respectively.
