In India’s World Test Championship (WTC) squad, he serves as the second wicketkeeper, with KS Bharat holding the primary role. Bharat recently made his Test debut against Australia in February this year, stepping in for Rishabh Pant.
India’s injury concerns appear to be far from over, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has provided concerning updates regarding two key pacers. Both bowlers sustained injuries during the ongoing 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL), raising further worries for the Indian team. As of now, Jaydev Unadkat’s availability for the final remains uncertain, as he undergoes rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). On the other hand, Umesh Yadav, the other pacer, has been permitted to stay with his IPL team.
