English test skipper Ben Stokes suffered a huge blow to his hamstring during ‘The Hundred’ game. Stokes is part of Northern Superchargers and was playing against Manchester in a crucial game.

The all-rounder, 33 years old, was batting when he suffered a hamstring injury. He was not even able to walk after the injury as he was carried out by two Superchargers staff members.

He was in severe pain as he grabbed the back of his left leg while in pain on the floor having hit a quick single. It has put him in doubt for the upcoming Sri Lanka test series which will begin on August 21.

Ben Stokes Is Doubtful!

England is set to begin their summer test against Sri Lanka on August 21 but might be without their skipper. It has put the English team in trouble as Zak Crawley was already ruled out of the squad.

Crawley suffered a fracture on the little finger of his right hand against West Indies. He has now switched his attention towards the Pakistan series that will begin in October. Lawrence has been included in the squad replacing Crawley.

Now with Stokes suffering a massive blow, his place might also be in scrutiny as hamstring injuries take time to heal.

England squad For Sri Lanka: Ben Stokes (C), Gus Atkinson, Shoaib Bashir, Harry Brook, Jordan Cox, Ben Duckett, Dan Lawrence, Ollie Pope, Matthew Potts, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Olly Stone, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.

Fans Furious

This incident has left the fans furious. Stokes was not only an integral part of Bazball, but without him, there is no aggressive skipper available in England. If Stokes is ruled out, we might see Joe Root taking the charge again, but everyone knows how that worked out previously.
