BBL 2022: The Big Bash League’s Sydney Thunder were bowled out for the lowest score in T20 history after being dismissed for just 15 runs in an utterly unusual match. The home team in Sydney had a shocking outing with the bat as they attempted to chase down a 140-run target in order to win against Adelaide Strikers.

Match ended with just 35 balls in the second innings
Brendan Doggett, the team’s no. 10, scored the highest individual score of 4 for the team. The team was five down for just nine when both openers, Alex Hales and Matthew Gilkes, were dismissed for a duck. Henry Thornton bowled an astounding 5/3 in the game, and Wes Agar took four wickets while giving up six runs. The Sydney Thunder lost the match by 124 runs after being knocked out in just 5.5 overs.
This team total is legitimately the lowest in the Big Bash League; Melbourne Renegades previously held the unfavourable record (5). After deciding to bat, Adelaide Strikers amassed 139/9 in 20 overs, with Chris Lynn scoring the most with 36 off 27 balls. Sydney Thunder entered the break in good spirits thanks to Fazalhaq Farooqi’s outstanding stat line of 3/20.
Thunder’s awful batting could not even last full powerplay
The Thunders, on the other hand, put on an absolutely awful display with the bat, failing to even last through the powerplay before getting dismissed for an awful 15. Gilkes was out on the third ball of the innings, followed by Rilee Russouw (3), Jason Sangha (0), and Hales (0), all of whom were also out without bothering the scorers.
Thunder had lost six wickets by the conclusion of the fourth over, and things only got worse for the team as the next over produced two more wickets with the score at 10/8. Before getting removed for the final wicket, Doggett hit the only four of the Thunder innings.
