India beat England by 10 wickets in first ODI of the three-match series at the Kennington Oval in London. Chasing the target of just 111 runs, Team India finished the game with more than 31 overs remaining. Skipper Rohit Sharma was the top-scorer from the Indian side as he returned to form with a 76-run not out score. Dhawan who was making his return in the blues after a quite long time has scored 31 runs and too remained not out.
Earlier, Indian bowlers folded out a strong English batting line up for just 110 runs. Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the Indian bowlers on the day with his figures of 6/19 while Mohammed Shami picked three wickets and Prasidh Krishna bagged one.
English captain Jos Buttler was the top-scorer from the home team with his 30-run knock.
With this victory, India took a series lead of 1-0 with two more matches to go on Thursday and Sunday.
However, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli who was out of the Indian XI on Tuesday with an injury.
Kohli has been the talk of the town as the star batter hasn’t performed in the recent time with the bat.
