Ceat Cricket Rating Awards 2023: Monday was a good day to be Indian cricket fans as Indian players dominated the award ceremony. Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and Deepti Sharma grabbed big and were the winners in various sections.
The award ceremony took place in Delhi. After a phenomenal 2023 so far, Shubman Gill was the frontrunner for various awards while Suryakumar Yadav was also being looked at with some expectations.
Ceat Cricket Rating Awards 2023 were given to the best of international cricket based on their ratings. The awards were announced at a gala ceremony with stars like Rohit Sharma and Brendon McCullum attending it.
Indian Domination
Indian players dominated the awards section as Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and Deepti Sharma were the winners. Gill won two awards including ODI Batsman Of The Year and International Cricketer Of The Year.
Suryakumar Yadav bagged the T20 Batsman Of The Year and after 2022 he had, there was no doubt of that. Deepti Sharma got the CEAT Women’s Cricketer Of The Year while Bhuvenshwar Kumar won the CEAT T20 Bowler Of The Year.
Other Winners
Kane Williamson won the Test Cricketer Of The Year award. It was surprising as Joe Root undoubtedly had the better year. The New Zealand international is currently at the top of the ranking and deserved his award.
Brendon McCullum got the CEAT Innovated Coach of the Year award. His world-renowned Bazball tactics have risen England from a slump and they are playing the most exciting test cricket.
The English red-ball coach praised the Indian team in test cricket and stated that it will be a tough challenge. He further clarified that they would try their best to win the series against India but it will be a hard task.
CEAT Limited honored Rohit Sharma by giving him ‘the aura of leadership and the pursuit of Excellence’ award.
