Chris Gayle took his name back from Lanka Premier League

Chris Gayle of the West Indies will not be seen playing in the Lanka Premier League (LPL). Gayle was to play in the team of Candy Tuskers along with Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel, Kushal Perera, Kushal Mendis, Nuwan Pradeep and Liam Plunkett.

The Tuskers, however, reported on Wednesday that Gayle has withdrawn his name from the league for personal reasons. The franchise wrote on its Facebook page, ‘Chris Gayle has withdrawn from the franchise-based tournament due to personal reasons.’

The option of Universe Boss has not been announced yet. Chris Gayle recently represented Kings XI Punjab in the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Chris Gayle had played seven matches for Punjab and scored 288 runs. The Tuskers will face the Colombo Kings in the first match of the league starting on 26 November.
