Maharashtra Shocker: In Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district, a 13-year-old boy has been accused of the murder of a 12-year-old boy following a heated argument over a cricket game, as reported by the police on Thursday. The tragic incident occurred on June 3, when the accused reportedly struck the victim on the head with a bat. Unfortunately, despite receiving medical treatment, the victim passed away on June 5.

Police exhumate the body for investigation
According to an official from the city police station, the family of the victim chose to bury the body without filing a police complaint initially. However, the mother of the deceased approached the police on Tuesday, leading to the exhumation of the body on Wednesday for a thorough investigation into the incident.
On June 3, a group of boys from the Bagadkidki area were engaged in a game of cricket on local ground. During the match, the victim got into a verbal dispute with some of the other boys. Subsequently, the accused purportedly struck the victim with a bat, as per the official’s statement.
After the incident, the victim fell to the ground and was swiftly transported to the District General Hospital. Tragically, despite receiving medical care, he passed away on June 5. According to the official, a case has been filed against the accused under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to murder. The official further mentioned that the boy accused of the crime has not yet been apprehended.

Mother approached the police
The official stated that without filing a police complaint, the victim’s relatives proceeded to conduct his funeral rites. However, on Tuesday, the victim’s mother approached the police and lodged a formal complaint. Consequently, the police took the necessary step of exhuming the body in order to initiate an inquiry into the case, as confirmed by the official.
