Cricket Records: On Sunday, February 26, during a T20 cricket match against Spain at the La Manga Club Bottom Ground, the Isle of Man team, led by Carl Haartman, set a new record for the lowest score in T20 cricket history, being bowled out for 10 runs in just 8.4 overs. In the second inning, Spain won the match within just two balls as batter Awais hit two sixes on the first two balls. The latter won the match conveniently while having 118 balls left, which is one of a cricket records in itself.
Lowest ever T20 score
Joseph Burrows was the top scorer for the Isle of Man team in the T20 cricket match against Spain, scoring four runs off seven balls. Atif Mehmood was the most successful of the Spanish bowlers, taking 4 wickets for just 6 runs in 4 overs. Mohammad Kamran and Lorne Burns also made significant contributions to the bowling effort, picking up 3 and 2 wickets, respectively.
The Isle of Man’s performance also resulted in them recording the lowest score in the history of T20 international cricket, breaking the previous record set by Turkey four years earlier when they were bowled out for 21 runs against the Czech Republic at Ilfov County in 2019. The previous record was held by the Sydney Thunder, who scored 15 runs against the Adelaide Strikers in the 2022-23 edition of the Big Bash League (BBL). Seven of the Isle of Man batters failed to reach double digits, contributing to their abysmal performance.

The Isle of Man cricket team’s previous lowest score was 66, which they recorded in a match against Spain on February 25. The team has played a total of 16 T20 international matches to date, winning 8 and losing 7. One match was declared a no-result.
Of their 16 T20Is, the Isle of Man team won all three matches against Cyprus and also emerged victorious twice against Estonia. Additionally, they won against Romania, Serbia and Turkey once each.
Spain won the fifth T20 international match against their opponent by seven wickets. Following this victory, they went on to win the match comprehensively.
