Cricket Records: There are certain records in cricket which are very hard to break. However, this does not limit just to scoring big sixes or hitting several centuries. This also includes not getting out on duck. Surprisingly, there have been many players who have played several innings without getting out on a duck. However, there is only one Proteas star who has not been out on duck since his debut up till his 100th innings.
Faf Du Plessis holds a unique cricket record
We are talking about none other than Faf Du Plessis who is now one of the biggest name in the cricket. But, when he broke this record, he was comparably a newbie on the field, marking just three years from his debut. Faf made his debut for the South Africa team on 18th January 2011 and went on to score some runs in every international match until 23 November 2014. During this course, he played 108 innings.
He eventually became the first player to never get dismissed on duck for 100 internationals since debut. There are eight more players who have crossed 100 innings without duck but they were in the middle of their career during the record and did not create this since debut like Faf.
Three Indian players in the list
The list includes three Indian players, Rahul Dravid (173 innings), Sachin Tendulkar (136 innings), and Virat Kohli (104 innings). The record by Faf is surely unique and would be hard to break by any other new players. Though, Rahul Dravid’s record is even more unlikely to get breaken.
