ODI World Cup 2023: In order to ensure their cricket team’s participation at the World Cup 2023, the Pakistan Government has requested a written security assurance from ICC and BCCI. A 14-member committee deliberated on the Pakistan Cricket Team’s travel to India. Although the date and venue for the IND vs PAK match were finalised, the Pakistan Government has asked for guarantees from both the ICC and the BCCI to ensure a safe and secure environment for their team.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif establishes committee
As is customary in all India vs. Pakistan encounters, Babar Azam and his team will require permission from the government to travel to India. The Men in Green’s most recent visit to India was during the T20 World Cup in 2016. Their last bilateral series against India took place in 2012.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif established a panel to address the matter, and it includes PCB Chief Zaka Ashraf among its members. The committee will be led by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. After discussing the issue, the committee will submit its recommendations to the Prime Minister, who will ultimately make the final decision regarding Pakistan’s participation in the ODI World Cup 2023.
