Cricket Viral Video: In 1990, Sachin Tendulkar scored up his first international century, while still being a teenager. This remarkable feat occurred when the young prodigy, known as the Master Blaster, secured his inaugural Test century at the iconic Old Trafford in Manchester, at the tender age of 17. This achievement also made the third-youngest player in history to accomplish a Test century.
Tendulkar’s introduction to the global cricket arena couldn’t have been more fitting. The narrative surrounding his inaugural Test century, a feat that averted India’s defeat in the second Test against England at Old Trafford, is as awe-inspiring as his illustrious career itself. Opting to bat after winning the toss, England compiled a substantial total of 519 runs.
Sachin Tendulkar rescues Team India
After suffering the early dismissals of Ravi Shastri and Navjot Singh Sidhu at a low cost, India’s response was underwhelming. Despite Sanjay Manjrekar’s valiant 93 and Tendulkar’s notable 68, the visiting team struggled to establish a solid stand. However, the resilient display from captain Azharuddin, who amassed a determined 179 runs, salvaged the situation and propelled India’s total to 432 by the conclusion of the first innings.
In the subsequent innings, the hosts managed to compile 320 runs, largely credited to Allan Lamb’s century, which set a target of 408 runs for India. India’s batting troubles persisted as they suffered a rapid succession of wicket losses, finding themselves at a discouraging score of 127/5. At this critical point, a young Tendulkar took the crease, showing exceptional composure and skill. His impressive knock of 119 runs with 17 boundaries, played a pivotal role in preventing a defeat for India.
