Cricket Viral Video: In India’s inaugural T20I match, Ajit Agarkar became the third Indian cricketer to take a wicket with his first ball in a specific format. This made him the first Indian to achieve this milestone in the 20-over format. This was a peculiar moment of Indian cricket that will always remain etched in the heart of fans.
Ajit Agarkar’s Historic Ball
During India’s tour to South Africa in December 2006, they played a single T20I against the South African team at Johannesburg. The Proteas’ captain Graeme Smith won the toss and chose to bat first. After the first five overs, South Africa had scored 31 runs for the loss of one wicket.
Indian skipper Virender Sehwag brought Ajit Agarkar into the attack, and he made an immediate impact by dismissing the dangerous Herschelle Gibbs with a widish delivery caught by Suresh Raina at cover. Agarkar then removed AB de Villiers on the last ball of his second over after conceding a six to him earlier in the same over. Unfortunately, Agarkar sustained an injury while bowling his third over and had to leave the field. He finished with impressive figures of 2/10 off 2.3 overs.

India limited South Africa to a total of 126/9 in their 20 overs, and then went on to win the match by six wickets. Ajit Agarkar represented India in only four T20Is and managed to take three wickets in total, two of which came in his debut match.
