Cricket Viral Video: Andre Russell, a West Indies all-rounder famed for his hard hitting, showed his prowess yet again. Russell of the Trinbago Knight Riders scored 72 runs off 24 balls in their 6IXTY tournament match against the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, giving his team a three-run victory.
The Caribbean all-six rounder’s consecutive sixes that dramatically changed the momentum of the game in favour of TKR was the night’s main highlight. When given the opportunity to bat first, TKR made the most of it and didn’t spare any effort to rack up a significant total.
Andre Russell wreaks havoc with his batting
Russell reached his half-century in just 17 balls during Dominic Drakes’ seventh over, in which he hit the first six on the third delivery and three more for sixes overall. Russell’s ferocious knock included Eight 6s and five 4s.
When Jon-Russ Jaggesar came to bowl in the eighth over, Russell had no mercy on him and hit sixes off each of the first balls he faced to complete his six-sixes. On the third ball, he continued by hitting a boundary. When Russell was ultimately caught by Duan Jansen on the penultimate ball of the over, St. Kitts finally exhaled a breath of relief.

Tournament follows unique rules and regulations
Every batting team in the 6IXTY has six wickets instead of the ten in the other forms, and by hitting two sixes in the first two overs of the powerplay, the batting teams can “unlock” a floating third period over. Without changing ends, teams will bowl five consecutive overs. No ends will be switched after each over either. Batters are not permitted to switch sides once an over has ended, per the tournament’s rules.
