Cricket Viral Video: Test cricket is different from other forms on several factors. It completely changes the way how a batter plays in game. However, some batsmen play with their natural game irrespective of the change in format. Chris Gayle has been one such player who plays with his normal pace. However, many are unaware that he is the only batter who has hit six on the first ball of a test match.
Chris Gayle’s iconic six
This happened in a Test match that took place in 2012 between West Indies and Bangladesh at Mirpur. The West Indies team won the toss and decided to bat first. Meanwhile, Bangladesh gave a chance to a new player, Sohag Gazi, an off-spinner who was expected to play a crucial role in the spin department.
As the game began, the debutant Sohag Gazi got the opportunity to bowl the opening ball against the West Indies’ top batsmen. One of these was Chris Gayle, who was known for his explosive batting skills, even though he hadn’t yet earned the nickname “Universe Boss” at the time.
When Chris Gayle walked up to bat at the start of the Test match, no one could have predicted the remarkable feat that he was about to achieve. With an incredible display of power and precision, he smacked the very first ball of the match for a six, creating history and becoming the first-ever player to accomplish this feat in Test cricket. The crowd erupted in cheers as Gayle and the West Indies team got off to a blazing start, racking up 18 runs in the opening over.

As the game progressed, it was Sohag Gazi’s turn to make his mark. In the fifth over of the match, he had his chance to strike back and he didn’t disappoint. On the last ball of the over, Gazi managed to dismiss the dangerous left-hander, Chris Gayle. Gayle had already made an impact with 24 runs off just 17 balls, including two fours and two sixes
