Chennai crowd gets insync with Buttler
Every time a player puts in a strong effort, the Chennai crowd cheers and salutes them passionately. Similar events occurred during the just finished final Test match between India and England at the Chepauk, where Jos Buttler became a new fan favourite.
It all began when Buttler came to field at the square leg boundary in the last moments of the second day’s play. Every time he turned his head, the audience began to applaud, joining in to support the bowler who was running in. When Alastair Cook, the English captain, instructed Buttler to field in a new position, the crowd also booed him.
The crowd mimicked everything Buttler did. The crowd would clap along with him whenever he put his hands on his head to lament a missed opportunity. Buttler and the audience were both having a good time.
