During a match between India and South Africa, Zaheer Khan was wreaking havoc. The match was reduced to 31 overs and the Proteas already lost 2 wickets for just 8 runs. That is when AB De Villiers walked in.
The incident took place in the fifth over of the match as Zaheer Khan was troubling the RCB legend. A sensational delivery by him took an outside edge off the Proteas batsman and Sachin Tendulkar took a brilliant catch in the slip.
Indian team erupted in celebration and were sure that De Villers had to walk back now. But umpire Aleem Dar was oblivious to the edge and stated batsman was not out leaving the Indian camp frustrated.
Refused To Walk
The frustration came from the fact that everyone knew it was a clear edge. Even ABD himself knew that but when the umpire declared him not out, he refused to walk. Which left everyone shell-shocked.
Sachin even shouted and told Zaheer Khan to ask the umpire whether the ball had hit the ground. He wanted to know what was the reason for being not out. Eventually, both teams got back to their business, but it will be one of the most bizarre incidents of cricket.
