Though, he is known for his cool and calm composure, even many ardent followers are not aware of the fact that he was actually a skillful cricketer as well. Jawaharlal Nehru studied in Harrow, England where he occasionally played cricket.

Recently, a video was posted on Twitter which showed Jawaharlal playing cricket with other honourable members of Parliament. The video is being rapidly shared by the netizens. Many reffered the video as a piece of history which must be saved. While, many others were thrilled seeing the parliamentarians play the sport, which is not a usual sight in today’s time.
Apparently, a charity function in New Delhi hosted the cricket match. Nehru led the Lower House squad in the game despite having “last played cricket at Harrow” before this contest. According to the video, the Nehru team’s first-inning score was 222/3. Before declaring himself “morally out” in the second inning, Nehru scored one run. The game ended in a draw, however.

The viral video has crossed thousand of views since it was shared. People have been sharing it since they were surprised and thrilled seeing the politicians play in a full-fledged match. A netizen wrote, “What a beautiful sight, it also shows bond between politician at that time.” Another user wrote, “What an amazing piece of history, children today should learn about the depth sports have in everyone’s life.”
