Cricket Viral Video: Over the years, James Anderson, the legendary fast bowler from England, has been no stranger to on-field verbal clashes. Renowned for his exceptional skills and experience, Anderson has often managed to provoke opposing players, leading to heated exchanges. One memorable incident occurred during England’s triumphant Ashes tour of Australia in 2010-11 when he responded fittingly to a sledge from Mitchell Johnson, the home team’s paceman.
Battle between two pacemen
The incident took place during the Perth Test of the series, where Mitchell Johnson, standing at the non-striker’s end, taunted James Anderson by saying, “Why are you chirping now, mate? Not getting the wickets?” It is presumed that James Anderson said something to Mitchell Johnson first, leading to the left-hander’s response.
However, it was ultimately Anderson who emerged victorious in the altercation, as he proceeded to dismiss Ryan Harris with the next delivery, clean bowling him. After delivering the perfect yorker to dismiss Harris, Anderson quickly turned back to Johnson, raising his hands and gesturing for the paceman to keep quiet. This moment showcased Anderson’s triumph and his ability to maintain control on the field.
James Anderson emerged as the hero in England’s most recent Ashes triumph in Australia. The talented right-arm fast bowler displayed excellent control and posed a constant threat to the opposition. Finishing the series as the leading wicket-taker from both teams, Anderson’s remarkable performance of 24 wickets at an average of 26.04 and an economy rate of just 2.93 is widely regarded as one of the finest displays by a bowler in a victorious away Test series.
