In a podcast with Jatin Sapru, Virender Sehwag tells us what happened when he was on 295 against Pakistan. As the match progressed and Sehwag reached the score of 295, he told Sachin that if Shaqlin Mushtaq came, he would step out and hit him for six.
Sachin hilariously replied I would hit you with the bat if you try and hit six. Master Blaster further explained to Sehwag that he was on 295 and could become the first Indian to score 300. And asked him to play cautiously for a little bit more.
Sehwag being Sehwag, replied that he had already made a record as no one has ever scored 295 either. So, he will hit a six on this ball. In the end, Sachin gave up, and we all know what happened after that.
The Record Breaker
Sehwag not only became the first Indian to score a triple century but became the first Indian to score two triple centuries in the test. His second test century against South Africa came in just 247 deliveries.
He also became the second batsman to score a double hundred in ODIs. There will never be a batsman like Sehwag in this lifetime. He was one of a kind, and we are lucky to have him dawned on the blue jersey.
