Cricket Viral Video: Former Indian batsman Vinod Kambli had the same astonishment as the rest of cricket when famous Pakistani batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq charged into the crowd with a bat to beat up a heckler who was regularly berating and calling him slurs.
The Unforgettable Incident of Inzamam-ul-Haq Requesting a Bat in the 1997 Sahara Cup Clash
The former left-handed batsman recalled the incident during the 1997 Sahara Cup match between India and Pakistan in Toronto, where the entire Indian dressing room was fascinated to see a Pakistan team member carrying a bat to Inzamam-up-Haq who was fielding. The Indian team was getting ready when they saw something that completely startled them. They were in shock at what they saw. As soon as the former Pakistani captain requested a bat from the 12th man, curiosity began to grow.
The Controversial Incident Surrounding Inzamam-ul-Haq and the Fan’s Insults
Later, it came to light that the fan had been calling him “Aalo” (Potato) and, more recently, former Pakistani speedster Waqar Younis had added that the supporter had also been making offensive remarks about Mohammad Azharuddin’s wife. “Yes, he was addressed as “aaloo” by someone. What actually transpired, though, was that there was a person in the audience who wasn’t very nice to Azharuddin’s wife. I believe they were just chatting nonsense, and Inzi being Inzi, he didn’t particularly enjoy it. And as I mentioned, the players from these two sides got along incredibly well off the pitch and showed a lot of respect for one another’, Waqar Younis said when asked about the incident. Inzamam received a two-match suspension for his acts, and he was later brought before the court.
