Der Merwe was in highlights a few days ago for relocating his dislocated finger on the field. And now, he has grabbed the headlines for an unconventional catch that will leave you spellbound and in splits.
In a match between Welsh Fire and Birmingham Phoenix, Van der Merwe grabbed a stunner to dismiss Moeen Ali. The batsman was left in utter disbelief after the catch as he could not process what had just happened.

The Cricket Viral Video features the best moment of the match which happened on the 67th delivery when Moeen Ali was on strike. A miscued strike resulted in the ball soaring in the skies. Der Merwe fumbled the catch on the first try and it was bound to be a dropped one.
But with cat-like reflexes and all the luck in the world, the catch somehow happened. The call rebounded over the 38-year-old’s chest and then hit his cap. He dove toward the ball and fumbled it once again.
But in the end, he caught the ball with one hand. The crowd did not know how to react as they were surprised and excited at the same time. And while all of this, Moeen Ali was stranded on the striker’s end in disbelief.
An Easy Victory
The catch was also a testament to how disciplined Welsh Fire were in their bowling. They stopped Birmingham Phoenix on just 112 runs in 100 deliveries. And they chased the target with ease in just 85 deliveries.
