Cricket Viral Video: MS Dhoni’s name resounds in the world of cricket even today, years after he retired from the sport. He made his debut for the Indian cricket team in 2004 and quickly rose to fame for his power-hitting skills, which were unmatched at the time. Despite initially struggling with his wicketkeeping, he eventually developed his unorthodox style and lightning-fast reflexes, making him one of the best keepers in the game.
Dhoni hits off three sixes in three balls
One particularly notable incident in Dhoni’s Test career took place during India’s tour of the West Indies in 2006. In the first Test, India was in a precarious position, trailing the hosts by 130 runs in the first innings. However, a strong batting performance from the likes of Wasim Jaffer, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, and Dhoni himself helped India bounce back.
As Dhoni came to the crease, the Windies captain Brian Lara was already unsettled by India’s fighting spirit, and Dhoni’s aggressive six-hitting further frustrated the home side. Dhoni’s whirlwind 69, which came off just 52 balls and included 10 boundaries, particularly targeted Windies spinner Dave Mohammed. In the end, Dhoni was caught by Daren Ganga while trying to hit Mohammed for a six, but the umpire was unsure of the dismissal, leading to a chaotic situation as Lara urged Dhoni to walk off, while the third umpire reviewed the decision. Ultimately, the innings was declared, bringing an end to the drama.

While he is widely remembered for his achievements in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and as a finisher in limited-overs cricket, it’s important to note that Dhoni also made a significant impact in Test cricket. In 90 Tests, he amassed a total of 4,876 runs, with some of his most memorable performances coming in foreign conditions such as the West Indies, England, and Pakistan.
